Forest Hills Stadium, located at Forest Hills’ West Side Tennis Club, is one of New York City’s most historic concert venues. Throughout its history, it has hosted U.S. Opens, as well as some of the most popular bands and musicians of the 60s and 70s. This summer, you can see some of the biggest musical acts at Forest Hills.
Summer’s Best Concerts are Happening at Forest Hills Stadium
Forest Hills Stadium in Queens once served as the primary site of tennis’ biggest tournaments like the Davis Cup and U.S. Open, which was played there from 1968-1978. The game’s premier talent and all-time legends, like Billie Jean King, Arthur Ashe and Chris Evert, have all put their time in at this cathedral of tennis.
This horseshoe-style, outdoor amphitheater, which seats over 14,000 people, later became one of the tri-state area’s most popular concert venues. World-famous music icons like Frank Sinatra, The Who, The Doors, The Rolling Stones and even The Beatles have all performed there.
Throughout the late 1990s, until a couple years ago, Forest Hills Stadium stopped hosting concerts altogether. However, after a recent renovation and rebranding, some of the world’s top acts began to return and perform to sold-out crowds. This summer’s line-up is all the proof you need.
