Long Island pools

One of the summer’s most celebrated pastimes is the swimming pool. In-ground or above-ground, it doesn’t matter. Sometimes all you need to do is take a quick dip to cool off from the sun and blazing temperatures. However, most people don’t have the luxury of a pool in their own backyard. But luckily, those folks can check out these amazing Long Island pools.

Echo Park

Echo Park, located in West Hempstead, has always been popular with families, especially during the summertime. People flock to spend the day at their exciting indoor pool and swimming facility.

What to Expect

When you arrive, you can get changed in their clean, spacious locker rooms. After you’re suited up and ready to go, it’s time to see what their state-of-the-art aqua center has to offer.

Besides the giant pool, there’s a diving tank, diving boards and even lanes, which you can use during special lap-swimming periods on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays from 7 to 10 a.m.

In addition to swimming, you can also enjoy the benefits of their men’s and women’s sauna and weight room. Also, if you work up a hunger along the way, feel free to grab a bite to eat at their tasty snack bar.

Michael J. Tully Jr. Park

Head out to Michael J. Tully Jr. Park in New Hyde Park and visit their huge, kid-friendly Aquatic Activity Center. Open 7 days a week, this facility has just about every feature a child could want, making it one of the most popular Long Island pools around.

The main attraction of the Aquatic Activity Center has to be the giant water slide with over 100 feet of spiraling rapids. They even have a wading pool for younger children and infants, as well as six water-spray rowers that will keep your kids occupied all day long.

They also have plenty of lockers to safeguard your most precious belongings while you enjoy the day at the Aquatic Activity Center.
