These premier venues regularly host some of the most famous musicians in the entire world. Governor’s Ball Music Festival
From Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4, the Governor’s Ball Music Festival will take place on Randall’s Island Park in New York City. This three-day immersive experience will showcase popular musicians, as well as the very best in the New York City art and food scene.
There will also be fun activities like mini golf, silent disco, life-size board games and interactive photo booths so you can keep busy between sets. If you get hungry, make sure you order from a signature NYC food vendor like Mighty Quinn’s, Asiadog or Melt Shop.
Friday’s festivities are headlined by Chance the Rapper, Lorde and Flume. As a bonus, you can also enjoy performances from acts like Beach House, Schoolboy Q, Tove Lo and Charli XCX.
If you stop by on Saturday, you can check out headliners like Phoenix, Childish Gambino and the Wu-Tang Clan. Other performers like The Head and the Heart, Rae Sremmund, A$AP Ferg and Car Seat Headrest will also perform.
Finally, on Sunday, Governor’s Ball will host three headliners: Tool, Cage the Elephant and Wiz Khalifa. There will even be appearances by Logic, Phantogram and Mac Demarco.
If you plan on attending this festival, be sure to figure out your transportation ahead of time. You can either take a shuttle or a ferry to get on the actual island.
Head out to Midtown this summer and attend the Summerstage Festival, an outdoor art fair held at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield (which can be entered at the corner of 69th Street and 5th Avenue). For the most part, these shows are free, except for a few big name benefit concerts.
Admission for these shows, which take place rain or shine, is always first come first served. Each show will also have plenty of vendors where you can find diverse food options, ice cream, beer, wine and soda. Just remember, its cash only.

There is limited space at these shows, so plan to get there early to reserve your spot on the lawn.
One of the most recent New York music festivals, Panorama Festival, will run from Friday, July 28 to Sunday, July 30 at Randall’s Island Park. Of course they’ll have plenty of food vendors, art exhibitions and outdoor activities, but this festival is all about the music.
Friday’s show will he headlined by musicians Frank Ocean and Solange, with secondary acts like MGMT, Future Islands and Tyler the Creator also performing.
Tame Impala, Alt-J, Belle & Sebastian, and Vince Staples will be the ones drawings large crowds on Saturday.
On Sunday, the festival will be closed out with performances from the likes of Nine Inch Nails, A Tribe Called Quest, Justice and Cashmere Cat.
