Queens is comprised of many unique, vibrant neighborhoods where there’s a seemingly infinite amount of things to do. During springtime, it’s rare that a week goes by without a fair or festival of some sort. This spring, check out these wonderful Queens street fairs.

Bacon and Beer Classic
It’s no secret that most people hold special places in their heart for beer and bacon. If this sounds like you, then the Bacon and Beer Classic is right up your alley. On April 29 and 30, this one-of-a-kind Queens street fair will take place at Citi Field in Flushing.
Here, you will be able to try over 50 bacon-infused dishes specially crafted by local chefs from restaurants like:
- Blue Smoke
- Brooklyn Baked & Fried
- Delaney’s Barbeque
- International Wings Factory
As for beer, there will be over 100 different selections available from some of the best regional breweries, including:
- Coney Island Brewing Company
- Great South Bay Brewery
- Staten Island Beer Company
- Peekskill Brewery
You can also partake in fun games and activities like giant Jenga, a bungee run and the Hormel bacon eating contest. Tickets are available in different time increments and can be purchased here.
Head down to the Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing on April 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a fun-filled day of action at Arbor Fest. Presented by Resort World Casino, Flushing Bank and New York Life, this festival, which comes two days after Arbor Day, is held to promote the care of trees, plants and nature as a whole.
They will have tons of fun activities for all ages, including:
- Live music
- Arts and crafts
- A petting zoo
There will also be food vendors and a beer tent for the adults. Admission for Arbor Fest costs $10 for adults and $8 for children.
St. Demetrios Cathedral Greek Festival
Queens street fairs are often dedicated to one of the area’s many vibrant cultures. For instance, the St. Demetrios Cathedral Greek Festival is presented by the St. Demetrios Astoria Youth Programs. All proceeds will go towards education and activities for the parish’s youth.
This church festival will take place from May 15 to 17 at St. Demetrios Cathedral in Astoria. The fair will close at 11 p.m. every night. However, it will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 1 p.m. the rest of the weekend.
Nowhere else in Queens can you get as delicious and authentic Greek food and pastries as you will at this fair. Some of the best festivities they have to offer include:
- Carnival rides
- Children’s games
- Flea market
- Church tours
There will also be a DJ all weekend serving up the best in current hits and traditional Greek tunes.
