Now that the holiday season is almost fully upon us, wonderlands and activities are popping up all over the place. However, few, if any, are bigger or better than the Bryant Park Winter Village in the middle of downtown Manhattan. So, if you’re looking to get in the holiday spirit anytime soon, this is the place to be—and here’s what to expect when you visit.
Ollie’s Guide to the Bryant Park Winter Village
The Bryant Park Winter Village, which is presented by Bank of America, is a winter wonderland in the heart of the city. It’s open every day throughout the holidays (weather permitting) and, best of all, it’s completely free!
The Bryant Park Winter Village would not be anything without its wide array of artisanal boutiques offering delicious eats and exquisite gifts.
Located along the park plaza, this European inspired open-air market hosts artisans from New York City and around the world. Click here to check out the entire list of participating vendors.
As the centerpiece of the Bank of America Winter Village, the Bryant Park ice skating rink is over 17,000 square feet of pure winter fun. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., this rink features free admission, high-quality rental skates and free shows, events and activities.
The Bryant Park Winter Village is also home to The Lodge by Urbanscape, a rinkside bar and food hall with dozens of new and classic NYC restaurants. They also have a festive cocktail bar, an outdoor beer garden and plenty of more exciting dining options.
Throughout the holiday season, the Winter Village will also play host to many different kinds of seasonal events.
The Tree Lighting
The Bryant Park annual Tree Lighting returns on Thursday, December 5 at 6 p.m. The event will feature Alyse Zwick as host, as well as fun, festive Christmas sing-alongs from the Harlem youth chorus DREAM Choir.
Not to mention, along with fireworks and Santa himself, world-class skaters Ryan Bradley, Evelyn Walsh and Trennt Michaud will also be on-hand.
Morning with Santa
On Sunday, December 15, come out to the Bryant Park Winter Village and meet Santa Claus with your friends and family. This meet-and-greet will even have Polar Lounge access, crafts and pictures with the big man—just don’t forget your camera!
The Bryant Park Winter Village is one of the best places in the area to get into the full holiday spirit!
