Long Island City Bars

Since New York City is regarded as one of the top nightlife capitals of the world, it makes sense that outer boroughs like Queens also have a happening bar and club scene. In fact, in neighborhoods like Long Island City, these establishments are becoming a dime-a-dozen. So, to help you weed through the endless options, we’ve compiled a collection of the best Long Island City bars for every kind of drinker.

Three Long Island City Bars for Every Occasion

Dutch Kills

If you’re in the mood for the hipster-y cocktail bars that Queens is famous for, look no further than Dutch Kills. Since 2009, this trendy Long Island City bar has been enthralling visitors with handmade cocktails crafted from outside-of-the-box ingredients like rosewater, nutmeg, cracked pepper and more.

Their lengthy, diverse drink menu features countless beers, wines and fresh, premium cocktails like the rye-based Grimaldi with lime juice, Campari and mellow white grapes. Not to mention, you can also choose a base liquor and let the bartender work their magic on a custom creation.

If their tasty libations make you hungry, you can snack on bar grub like beer cheese and beef jerky. However, Dutch Kills also serves Hendu’s Sandwich Shop dishes like Beef-Braised Pork Shoulder and Roast Beef.

LIC Beer Project

LIC Beer Project is a must-visit for beer lovers, as well as basically anyone searching for a fun, relaxed drinking experience. This Long Island City bar is known for its expansive selection of quality beers, although its IPAs and farmhouse-style ales are extremely popular, too.

Its laidback environment is ideal for groups, and it even has corn hole boards to keep you busy while you drink. Just remember, LIC Beer Project doesn’t operate the usual bar hours. They are open Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from noon to midnight and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.
